The risk in homeschooling is that you are not getting the benefits of an experienced teacher. That said, we work to make sure that our teachers are qualified to work with children.
Rules & Regulation
Make sure that your qualifications meet state requirements. Eleven states - Georgia, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia - require parents to have at least a GED to homeschool students.
If you are someone who would have been disqualified from being a teacher for previous offenses, you should not be permitted to homeschool.
Some states require that you must file an affidavit of intent to homeschool. Make sure you have submitted the proper forms.
A great teacher is someone that cares about the students and that holds true in homeschooling.
Proper grammar is not a requirement, but a homeschool teacher should be well-versed in school subjects, so they can pass the knowledge to children.
